Notepad & Full Screen Editor by Mark Esposito ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Total is Notepad Plug-In that will compute the total of selected values in a Notepad. You can select from 3 basic types of Totals: - Notepad 4.x Timer Entries - Currency (searches for entries with a user defined symbol) - General (adds up any numbers) The total may be additionally filtered by specifying a search string or starting column. You can set different options for each type of total. All options and the last 'total type' used are stored. The computed total may be edited in the Pelican Software Full Screen Editor and stored in the current Notepad. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Using TOTAL: The TOTAL screen looks like a dialog box with a list in the center. Help is available. -> CHOOSING THE TYPE OF TOTAL: Use the arrow keys to select OR press to pop-up a list of 'total types.' -> SETTING OPTIONS: Press . Leave the 'Search For' string blank unless you want to restrict the total. This version of total will match the search string if it occurs anywhere in a Notepad entry. The starting column sets where total will start searching for numbers. Note that not all options are available for each 'total type.' -> CALCULATING: Press . -> SAVING: Press . This works only when there is a total displayed on-screen. The computed total entry (with date stamp) is sent to the Pelican Software Full Screen Editor for further editing. You will then be prompted to set the priority for this new entry. Then the total will be stored in the current Notepad. -> CONTINUING: You may select another 'total type' or change options while a total is displyed on-screen.
